About Salsa

Salsa is fostered in Apopka, FL (Orange County). We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for foster families! Salsa is a fun, energetic young heeler at about 11 months and 32 lbs. Salsa is not a cuddle-on-the-couch dog; a typical cattle dog, she needs mental stimulation and exercise! We prefer herding dog and ideally heeler experience for her home. She has a fair amount of ball and tug drive and could be a performance dog with the right handler. She is most enthusiastic about squeaky toys and will destroy them, but is not destructive otherwise. She loves to play with the other dogs in her foster home. She does nip at their heels when she gets overly excited. She has a good grasp of basic obedience and aims to please her handler. She has skin allergies for which she takes antihistamines, which her adopter will need to continue administering under a vet's purview. Salsa gets along with humans of all ages and dogs of all ages and sizes. She is a wonderful girl and will make someone an awesome active companion or sports dog. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and preventives, microchipped, and heartworm-free.
