About Lola-ADOPTION PENDING

Poodle / Shih Tzu
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

No one would blame Lola for being just a bit traumatized! This sensitive girl was lost and alone on the busy Houston streets. This was through no fault of her own...her elderly mom was very ill and Lola somehow slipped away from the home. We hope that Lola can serve as a lesson to us all...if you're a senior citizen or even a younger person, plans must be made in writing for your pets. If this doesn't occur, that devoted fuzzy friend will most often end up in a high-kill municipal shelter. Lola is definitely one of the lucky ones...her inner (and outer) beauty spoke volumes and our Texas rescuer couldn't say no (and we're so glad she couldn't!) Lola is a stunning Poodle/Shih Tzu mix...her cottony-soft white/tan coat just begs to be stroked. Our hearts go out to this lovely girl...she's anxious about the abrupt changes in her life (who wouldn't be??) and needs the patience, kindness and love of a true dog-lover to bring the spring back to her step. Lola is approximately 5 - 5.5 years old (such a perfect age...old enough to have left babyish behaviors behind and young enough to have many, many healthy and active years remaining). Lola weighs just 14 lbs...the perfect size to fit perfectly on any lap (while still enjoying walks and hikes). This would bring Lola the greatest joy - to have a warm lap, soft strokes and calm, loving words while having enough outdoor time to be healthy and happy.. Lola has shown herself to be a healthy girl with no known challenges. She also wouldn't be a pup who would require lots and lots of exercise....a fenced yard for play and sunning would be perfect. Long walks around the neighborhood to socialize would definitely fit the bill for Lola. She will be so happy just to be hanging out close to her favorite person (or people)...after all, you never know when there's an empty lap or a loving touch. We envision Lola with retired folks who don't have the need for a super-active companion but love hanging out with a fluffy best friend. A younger family that works from home or part-time would be great as well.. Right now, a great match would be a family who just wants a devoted (once comfortable and bonded) and loving full-time companion. With true love and respect in her family, Lola will return these emotions a million times over. We're hoping that Lola is spayed prior to her transport to Boulder. If this doesn't occur, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Lola's spay and microchip if one of our Colorado rescue vets is used . Lola has the most gorgeous non-shedding and cottony-soft coats imaginable. She will therefore require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition (a daily salmon oil supplement is strongly suggested for longevity as well coat care) to keep her coat silky-soft, matt-free and very healthy. Lola will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 8/14/18. Applications are currently being accepted for our sweet girl. If interested in this adorable, and very cuddly and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. PLEASE NOTE: If you're truly interested in adopting Lola, please be sure to submit our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most circumstances, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
