About Livie

This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only. Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. This is Livie, a 4-year-old female pitbull (ID#A5191498) and she is set to be euthanized. I was ready to take her home this beautiful girl home, however, because she has been mistreated and kept at the shelter for an extended amount of time it has caused her stress and fear. Because of her fearful nature now the shelter has labeled her as possibly 'aggressive' and they will not allow civilians to adopt her. This seems unfair to Livie, she still has love in her and many years to live. She was put in a strange and scary situation; any dog would be nervous and defensive when put in unfamiliar surroundings with strange smells and many other dogs barking. She is being held at the Carson/Garden Care Center (216 W. Victoria Street, Gardena, CA 90248 / (310) 523-9566). I would love to adopt her but it seems my hands are tied because of their regulations. I spoke with a representative and they told me that a plea has been sent out to the rescue groups that they work with and a 72-hour hold has been placed on her status. Being a holiday weekend though, I wanted to be proactive and reach out to you myself. If your rescue group can take her out of the shelter, I can offer financial support, foster care for Livie, and any other way I can help. I am an animal lover and this pains my heart to know that Livie may be killed without being given a chance! I am so worried and pained over her fate, if your group is able to take her out of the shelter, I would love an update. Again, if there is any way I can help on my end, please let me know!
