About Cosita

Cosita is a beautiful senior chihuahua. She's been with us since she was 3 months old. She did come from a puppy mill. We got her at a well known pet store on Bethel Road 13 years ago. She does have cataracts. She is up to date with her rabis shot. She does need steroid injection before rabis shot because she had 1 episode of allergic reaction to it and was admitted for emergency evaluation. Ever since, we dont risk it anymore and go with the steriod shot. She is fixed. She was brought up with another dog we had, but he aged and passed away. She's not lived with any other pets. Preferably no infants or todllers that might want to pull on her ears. She is not used to little babies. She does very well with older children. She is very over protective of her owners home. She will bark and sniff but she's never bit anyone. She will growl if she doesn't feel comfortable. She's never been caged. She loves to spend time outside in a gated yard. She's never been left outside unattended unless house is gated, she will do fine but if not gated, she will run away. This happened to us a few times when yard door was left opened. She does have accidents inside the house if not taken out on time. She will alert you if she needs to go by walking or running back and forward up to the door. She's a loving pet. Loves to cuddle and sleep with someone. She is missing teeth, she eats soft dry food, she's lost teeth due to hard foods in the past and because of her age now. She eats twice a day, breakfast and dinner. She is allergic to mosquito and flea bites. She is taken care of when she has flare ups, we do bathes and benadryl. If it worsens, she has done well with Apoquel. She needs a good, warm and loving family that will keep her til her end of days. She is obidiant but sometimes will sit and stare if she doesn't feel like moving a paw! It is not easy for us to let go of her but we feel that we have to, now with a premature, now crawling and walking, baby boy.
