About Luna

Rottweiler mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Hi All, my name is Luna. I'm an approximately 5 month old Rottie mix girl. I was found wandering the streets and was brought to this place they call a shelter. Southern States Rescued Rottweilers came to make sure I could live a nice, safe life. When I was found I had a scratched cornea and demodex mange. My eyes are perfect now and my hair is growing back but when they found me I had white 'moon' patches where my hair was missing. That's where my Mom got my name Luna. My beautiful hair is growing back so nicely now though and my eyes have their sparkle back. I get to plaaaaaaaaaaay so much with my foster doggie brother and sister. Oh, and they have little people too! I love the little people! My main purpose in life (for now) is to fetch tennis balls, play tug of war with my foster sister and play with my little people. My little people love snuggling with me and take me on fun adventures in the yard and riding in their toy cars. I also love waking them up in the morning for school. Kisses and hugs are the best. My favorite tennis ball is the squeaky kind and I also like my big felt ball as well. I will play fetch all day with you, and when your arm gets tired from throwing the ball you can kick the big one around and I push it around with my nose and bring it back to you. I'll have to show you them sometime, but only if you throw them for me when I do. I really love to fetch!! I like to play with the foster dogs too, that usually involves tennis balls or our Kong Wubba. I'm learning tug-o-war from my foster doggie brother and sisters who are tug-o-war masters. My foster doggie sister especially likes to tease me and grab one of the balls away and make me chase her for it. We take turns playing fetch, sometimes we race together for it. I can beat her but sometimes my feet get in the way and she gets it before me. I can be a little clumsy sometimes. My foster brother loves when I run and slide under his belly when we are playing, it makes then all laugh. Getting back to fetching balls though, I retrieve the balls, and when you tell me 'leave it' I drop what's in my mouth at your feet and sit patiently and wait for you to throw that ball again or leave it sitting there. I know, I'm so well behaved at my age it's kind of crazy. I absolutely love going on car rides and walks with my foster family. I'm learning that it's pretty nice to get snuggles and pets and I sit long enough to enjoy them now as well. As a matter of fact, when I want something I sit next to my foster Mom and she either takes me out to play, walk or swim. Oh, I forgot to mention I love the water. We have our own doggie pool and my foster sister, and I love to get in it and soak. I like to put my face in the water and get things off the bottom of it, it's a baby pool but I know I would love fetching in the water at the lake as well. I know I would love paddle boarding too or anything on the water. I will learn anything you want to teach me and I'm a fast learner. Did I mention I know how to sit, off, leave it and stay? I wait patiently for my food most times but I'm still a puppy so I do get excited. It was odd learning that I was actually going to be fed and not have to look for food on the ground. Thank goodness! I know 'leave it' because I put lots of stuff in my mouth, I mean, I'm still a puppy and all. Food and playing fetch motivate me for anything. Since I've been with my foster family though, I get my food in my area, and I realize that it's not a race to finish when it comes to food and I don't have to look for it all over the ground. I do really well in my crate. I have my stuffed toy to chew on and a Kong that foster momma stuffs with treats if she has to leave me in there for a little bit but I don't mind all of that fetch gets me tired. I also go right to the door to go outside to do my business. Sometimes if I'm playing with the little people, I may have an accident in my excitement and confusion but once I get to know where I'm supposed to go, I do. I do well walking on a leash too, sometimes I even get my leash and bring it to you. If you'd like more information about me or to meet me sometime, please fill out an adoption application and one of the adoption coordinators will get in touch with you and hopefully we'll get a chance to meet, and play fetch, soon!
