About Eric

Eric is a REALLY sweet loving dog. He has been wonderful to me and my 10yr. old son. We adopted him from a shelter 2yrs ago in New Orleans. We recently moved to NC last month and he has become very dog aggressive (which he previously had not been) and unfortunaley we live in an apartment and he's getting too strong and aggressive for me to feel its safe for him and/or other asnimals/residents. He needs someone with room for him to run and layout in the sun like he used to when we lived in a house. He was heartworm high positive when we adopted him and treated him for it. At 6 months he was retested and told he was low positive and to retest in 6 mos. When he was retested at 6 mos later he tested high positive again. He has been heartworm medication the entire time. i was planning on retreating him once we got settled in NC since he needs to be low stimuli maintained after treatment but now with the sudden change in behavior with other dogs I don't see how I can. In my heart I don't want to give him up because he is family and we LOVE him but it seems to be in his best interest if I can find someone who will get him the medical care he needs and offer him the environment that's best for him and someone who has time/money to get some training for him with the dog aggression. He's AMAZING with kids of all ages and LOVES people. He loves a lot of snuggling. He has bad anxiety with the rain, he shakes really bad, the thunder shirt and some lavender oil seem to help.
