About Macy

Meet Macy. Macy is a purebred Great Dane that was unfortunate enough to be be born with an enlarged aorta. What this means is that her esophagus is compressed and she has a very small opening to allow good passage. She will be two in September and requires a liquid diet. I have taken her to every specialist and the fact is that surgery is just unrealistic. I have maintained her blended diet for two years and although she runs very thin, she leads an otherwise healthy life. She is a sweet soul and a great dog. She LOVeS kids and cats and is great with her other dog buddies. I do recommend her go to a home where she can be the dominant dog because of her diet. It is somewhat time intensive but her sweet personality makes her a very worthwhile pet. I have come to a point where I can no longer devout this kind of attention to her but I'm sure she would make an excellent family member!
