About Raven

Welcome the beautiful Raven! This sweet but shy 6 lb beauty is quite smart and curious. However, this 4 yr old chi lady has had a rough start in life and needs someone who will be patient and gentle as she gains the trust of her human family. Now Raven is fine when her foster kisses her head but she takes time to open up to people. She is friendly towards other small dogs and doesn't mind cats. She would be best in a family without young children and large dogs due to her size and disposition. She uses the potty pad sometimes but is still working on housetraining. Raven snuggles under a blanket on her doggie bed in her foster mom's bedroom at night. She is used to a leash but sometimes needs a gentle and slow pull to guide her along. She will not 'come,' when called, so leash training is being used to help guide her to her foster. She is food motivated and will vocalize with cute little barks as if to say 'please, give it to me' once her foster starts to stir her food! She loves to follow her foster mom around the house, but especially in the kitchen! She will come up and put her cute little wet nose on her moms' leg when working in the kitchen as if to say, 'Hey, I'm here!' She gains trust through activities like eating boiled chicken from hands, cuddle time under her blanket, and gentles scratches behind her ears. Eventually this sweet little girl will be cuddling in the arms of her adopter, but she needs someone who will be willing to work with her in the time that she needs. She is UTD with shots, microchipped, and HW neg. She has an appointment to get spayed the first week in September which will be covered under her adoption fee as long as it is done at our vet.
