About HuggleCat

The cat I call HuggleCat is a stray spayed female that showed up in our hay lean-to. We give her food and water. She was EXTREMELY wary for the first six months, then starting allowing me to approach her, and at about the 1 year mark, let me touch her. Once I could get my hands on her, she became very affectionate and snuggly, indicating to me that she has been socialized to people in the past, but then must have had a bad/abusive experience (see the scaring on the lens of her right eye in the photo). She loves our dog as well. She is now tolerant of my wife and three teenage boys, but still only allows me to handle her. I've tried to coax her into the house, but she never wants to go more than about six feet from the open door when she comes in. I am moving to Texas within the next 30 days and my family will be joining me just a few months after, so we are looking for a new home for this sweet but skittish girl.
