About George

George is a Australian Blue Heeler that was previously the companion of my late friend, John (see photo). John passed away from cancer earlier this year, and I've been taking care of George since then. When John picked up George from a shelter in Spokane, WA, they said he was about 7 years old. That was 3 years ago, so George is perhaps 10 now. I've been taking George on long walks in the hills and valleys near Camp Pendleton, where he can chase squirrels, prairie dogs, bobcats and birds, and play with the odd coyote he encounters. John was not able to walk George as much, so I began to help him and George has lost weight (he now weighs 50 pounds, down from a high of 75). I regret that I can no longer keep George due to circumstances with my housing and work. I've owned dogs much of my life and love them, and it saddens me to have to give up George as much as it saddened my to say goodby to my friend John. But I have to seek help from someone who could give George a good home and enjoy his love and companionship. I will miss him.
