About Astro

Meet Astro! Male, neutered Approximately 1 year, 35 lbs Wire Hair Terrier mix Astro is a sweet, playful dog with a puppy personality. He is house-trained and loves to go for walks. (His foster home does not have a fence so he goes for walks throughout the day.) He walks well and stops at corners and stays until given the OK. He is still learning other commands. He will sit but gets so excited that we are still working on stay and come. He also loves chewing his toys and playing tug. Astro is currently living with two smaller dogs but may do better with a larger companion as he wants to play a little more than they are prepared for. We do not know how he would do with children but he is very friendly and loves to cuddle. Astro currently sleeps in the bedroom in a crate and is happy as long as he does not sense that he is alone. Possibly because he was abandoned by his previous owners he seems to panic when left in his crate alone (he is OK out of the crate), and may do better in a home where somebody is there most of the day or he has another dog as a companion. Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We need foster homes - pounds are overflowing with puppies and adult dogs that are at-risk and need help. We can only rescue as many as we have foster home commitments.
