About Zavala

Look at this stunning boy! This is Zavala, or ZZ for short. This handsome pup had a very unhappy start to life. Abandoned by his owners because they were moving, he was dumped off on someone's door, severely underweight and malnourished. Fur was missing from his body and he had open sores from being crated for too long. Thankfully some good samaritans took him in with the initial hope of adopting him, but their other dog will not allow it. ZZ is very much on the small side. We aren't sure if its from poor nutrition or if the original owner was unsure of his age. We estimate that ZZ is about a year. ZZ is very HIGH energy! He's had NO training and needs to learn some manners and boundaries. He is very jumpy and can be a little mouthy at times, so a home with young children is NOT recommended. ZZ is friendly with other dogs but his energy level can be a bit of a turn off for some dogs. Currently he is with an older shepherd mix and a smaller dog as well. He will play very rough, so we recommend a home with larger dogs. He has been introduced to cats and he sees them as playmates. It's possible that he can live with a dog savvy cat that will be able to keep him in check. His ideal family will be one that is active and has the time to dedicate to his training and keep him properly exercised. ZZ is up-to-date on his vaccines and was recently neutered.
