About BUKI

*** EXCELLENT FAMILY DOG ! *** 'BUKI' is a super cute, super sweet, super silly 1 yr old, 40-45 lb, Lab mix male we rescued from a very high kill pound. 'Hi All!! My name is Buki. It's a unique name because I am a unique dog. My foster parents pronounce it Bucky but I've also been called Bukey and Buckeye. I think I'm going to like snow because I am still young and extremely curious about new things. So let me tell you a little bit about me. I'm extremely smart. My foster mommy says I'm too smart for my own good. Sometimes my intelligence gets me into mischief. But, I really am a very good boy & love praise. I learned a few basic commands very quickly like sit and shake, but I also learned how to open the gate to the kitchen very quickly too. Foster mommy says what's the point of a gate if I just open it anyways. I'm extremely sweet,friendly and outgoing. I love people and people love me! My foster grandma came to visit. She nicknamed me Persistent Pete because I can sometimes be stubborn. She asks about me every time she calls. See I grow on people! I've had a rough start to life. I was abandon at a kill pound before I was even one and locked in a cage with many other dogs. Foster mommy thinks one of the other dogs bit me because I do have a piece of my ear torn. I don't like to be left alone locked in a room. My foster parents left me out to roam the house one day, and guess what ??|I was well behaved and didn't get into any trouble. There was even food on the counter, and I didn't touch it. I just chilled out until they got home. So now I get to stay out every day. I also really like to please people. I am house trained. From day one in my foster house I've never had an 'accident.' I love to play outside and play with the neighbor dog through the fence. We play chase along the fence line and bark at each other. It is so much fun! I love to run and am fascinated with things like birds. I will jump at them when they fly over my head. I love toys! I'm really good with not destroying the toys I'm given. I like to cuddle. Doesn't everyone love a Buki on their lap? I really just want to find my forever home. A place where I will be loved and played with and given the attention that has been lacking in the first year of my life. I want a family to call my own. I promise to do my best to be a good dog and to make your life better with my outgoing and humorous personality.' BUKI is neutered, has been de-wormed, is current on vaccinations, on monthly heart worm preventative, crate-trained and house-trained. All of our rescued dogs have been on a nutritional regime which includes high quality food and supplements (ex., pro-biotics; vitamins, etc). This is done to bolster their immune systems and overall health; the result benefits their adoptive family with a pooch who has a lustrous coat, bright shiny eyes, and happy and healthy disposition.
