About Lincoln

Meet Lincoln! This gentle giant could not be a better companion. He was rescued by us and has had professional training and has made great strides in this area. He can sit and lay down on command. He knows his name and he works on coming 'quick' and loose leash walking. He also is being trained to not take food without permission and is doing well. Lincoln gets along with our mini dachshund but has been a little unpredictable with other dogs. We would encourage a home where he is the only animal. He has been around our three young children and loves them very much. We do not have fear of his behavior around them. However, he had an incident recently with a visiting child that we believe was provoked which we will fully disclose to any interested adopters. He is not aggressive, but because of the number of young kids in our home and neighborhood, we are trying to find a home for Lincoln with less action and less provocation so he's safe and not nervous. Homes with no small children are ones that will be considered first. Lincoln does not like to be without his companions but is fine being kenneled when they are away. If possible, it is in our interest to have a co-parenting situation with some occasional updates and visitations. And if the adopter lives near Colorado Springs, we would even be willing to care for Lincoln when traveling is necessary. We just have too busy of a home to ensure that Lincoln isn't nervous when kids visit and we want the best situation he can possibly have. This realization has come with a flood of tears and careful consideration. It breaks our hearts to part with him knowing he is such an amazing dog but the best situation for his future is to be with another loving family. Please contact us if you'd like to meet Lincoln!
