OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for ADULT dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. Also, our puppies can only be adopted to the immediate Houston vicinity as it takes 4 months to get them completely vetted at our vet here in Houston. We will not allow our dogs/puppies to be adopted out of the area without being spayed/neutered. We spay/neuter puppies at 4 months old. Hi there! My name is Pixie! I've had a rough start in life but thanks to K9 Angels they rescued me from a terrible hoarding situation and now life is looking amazing! I'm a little shy at first with new people and sometimes get startled by loud noises, but give me a couple hours and I'll be running around and playing with toys. I'm learning to walk on a leash and getting pretty good at it. I go in my crate at night for about 8 hours and have no potty accidents! I'm also doing very well with going potty outside. I think I will have that mastered very soon. As long as I can go outside routinely I have figured out that's where I am supposed to potty and I'm even starting to understand the word 'potty'. I love to get a good ear rub and rubs under my chin. If you look closely at my eyes you'll notice they are different colors, which I think makes me super extra special and my foster mom thinks that's a pretty unique thing about me! I love stuffed animal toys because I like to lay my head on them like a pillow when I go to sleep. I am still a puppy so lots of chew toys are my favorite and squeaky toys are a ton of fun too! I love being with my humans. I have a lot of energy and LOVE to play. It would be really awesome if I have another fur friend who will play with me. Because of my life before K9 Angels I had dislocated my shoulder shortly after coming in and needed to heal. I'm recovering wonderfully from that, but still need about 2-3 more weeks of calm play which is tough for me because I LOVE to run and play. No jumping for a couple more weeks but my foster parents pick me up and let me lay of the couch with them when I'm looking sleepy. I just can't jump on or off the couch. I am pretty energetic so I'll need to be watched closely till I'm totally healed. I still have a minor limp on my right front leg, but it should be good as new in a couple weeks. My foster mom is giving me some extra vitamins and nutrients mixed in with my breakfast and dinner to get my bones strong and healthy. If you're looking for a best friend here I am! I'm so happy to be out of the extremely undesirable beginning of my life and in the weeks I've been in a real home I've learned what real love and affection are and of course I am eating that up! Pixie is a Female Chinese Crested that we estimate to be born around 10/12/2017 and weighs 10 lbs. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month time frame it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready.
