Rocky was 1 year old when he was rescued from an animal hoarders' home. Due to this Rocky missed out on the necessary early socialization. This has had an impact on Rocky that makes him timid and shy in new situations and surroundings and just with meeting new people. This by no means takes away from his awesome personality, he just needs to find someone who is patient enough to give him a minute to warm up. Once you do, you'll see he's everything you're looking for in a dog and friend. Rocky loves his treats but he's a bit of a picky eater. He refuses any veggie-based treats. He'll spit them out the minute they touch his tongue with an accompanying disappointed look that should have you reaching for the jerky treats out of pure shame. When Rocky is just hanging out with his people you'll find he's very affectionate, don't be surprised when his sweet face lands in your lap, he just wants you to know how much he adores you! If you are active or have an active household, Rocky will be right there with you! Going for a walk or a run, playing fetch and just enjoying the out doors is what lights up this boy's world. As an athletic dog, he does come with the impressive ability to jump a 6 'fence when he's bored, please keep that in mind. Fences should also be without holes that little ones or passersby could stick their fingers or hands through. Rocky is a guard dog and protective of his yard and family. At the end of the night when everyone is going to bed you'll have peace of mind sleeping with Rocky around. He'll check all the windows and doors to make sure all is well. Rocky takes his night job very seriously, patrolling the house and being on the lookout. You can count on him as your first defense and your best friend! Rocky has the perfect home and family out there for him, like most people he comes with some unique traits, but nothing a willing owner can't handle to bring out his most outstanding qualities!
