Treeing Walker Coonhound
Sex: Female

Hello, I am a Treeing Walker Coonhound, and I am currently called Abby. I found my human, at a nursing home that I went to looking for help. I was very hungry and thirsty, but I watched my manners. And she came out and brought me cold water. Then, she just pet me even though I was muddy and dirty. I didn't jump on anyone, chase anyone, try to push my way inside, or be aggressive over the food that she fed me after bringing me in to a cool office. My human took me to her home that day and I was so excited to see the children outside playing. I got to meet all of them and they pet me and I loved it. Then, I met my human's dog, a Jack Russell; she was fun. We ran and played but could only go the length of the leash. We live in an apartment and I can't go run as I would like and I get bored because she lives alone with us. I like it when she comes home; I get lots of scratching, petting, hugging and kisses. I also, keep watch and when I hear a sound that isn't right, I'm on it. I warn them to stay away and at the same time, I am alerting my human. I think that the best part though is that I get to stay right by her side whether it is outside, on the couch or on the bed (yeah)! Hello, I am Abby's human and she is one of the most delightful, affectionate and intelligent dogs I have had the honor of knowing. I do not know if she is purebred or a mix or have any idea where she came from. The problem is that my lifestyle of living in an apartment and working the number of hours I work is just not fair or appropriate for her. The only times that she can really run is on the weekend when I take her to a dog park. And she does get restless. She is higher energy and I am just not able to meet that need. She is extremely well socialized. She has been no worry at all in meeting other dogs. I haven't tried cats, etc. She is also house trained. She will leave you in no doubt that she needs to go outside. Even though, Abby is a hunting dog (and I am sure that she would love that) she would not do well just being kept outside either. She does NOT like to be left alone and will let you know it. She loves to maintain physical contact with me when I am still. She would be a great addition to your family and I hope that you will contact me providing her forever home.
