About Hank

Adoption Fee: $200
German Shepherd
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

It is with deep and painful regret that I have to seek someone out to adopt our dog Hank. I have grown to love this puppy over the nearly a year's time that I have known him, but we simply cannot take care of him. His dad, my boyfriend, adopted him three years ago when things were very different in his life. It was in the last six months or so that his life changed drastically in a way that makes it very difficult to give Hank the home that he deserves. Hank was shipped from Germany as a puppy. He has paperwork that guarantees that he will have no health problems. German German Shepherds are bred differently than American ones - they are bred for health and do not have the same hip problems that American breeds are known for. He is sharp as a tack and wonderfully trainable. We will not be adopting Hank out to a breeder or facility that will use him for any type of labor, period. *Jason and I have come to the conclusion that we want to adopt Hank to someone who lives as close to us (we live in Tampa) as possible. We also would like someone who is open to visitation rights (a few times a year). Sincere apologies to anyone out of state who has replied to this ad already. After speaking back and forth and getting an idea of who you are, we will drive him to you to send him off and make sure your home is legit. Thank you so much for your understanding. We are asking for an adoption fee because we want to make sure that whoever is responding is SERIOUS about adopting a perfect dog like Hank, and that you have the resources to give him a good life with a yard and lots of food and toys. The fee is minimal in comparison to how much Hank was to purchase. Again, thank you for your understanding. Please note that I have changed the contact info to my bf's instead of mine so that he can speak with you directly. He is handling the actual adoption interview process. *Here is a link with a little information on the difference between a German German Shepherd and American German Shepherd, but please do your own research as well: http://ottogsd.com/german-vs-american-german-shepherds.php
