Hi! I'm DIXIE, an adorable 2-3 year old, 45lb Border Collie mix who is looking for a forever home. I'm an active, playful girl who would love a large fenced in yard where I can engage with my toys, play catch and frisbee (my favorite game) and romp around with a fur friend. If you're the athletic type, I will make a fantastic jogging companion for the running enthusiast or a great hiking buddy for the trail blazer. Looking for an hiking buddy? Soon the leaves will turn color and fall off the trees. I so long to feel the crunch of leaves under my paws. Why hike alone when you could have me by your side! I do have an off switch and after some play/exercise time, I'm ready to head home, put my paws up and chew on a bone or take a nap. I'm a very sweet and affectionate girl and love to snuggle with my family. I'm good with other friendly dogs and older children. I'm ok with cats (although they do get annoyed when I insist their place is in the corner). I'm super smart and highly treat and praise motivated and I love learning new commands and tricks too. My favorite game is fetch and I can play it all day. But if you want to try something new like agility training together, that would be great fun too!!! I'm already housebroken, crate trained, walk well with a good harness and I have good house manners. So if you're an active family looking for a fun-loving, friendly and love bug like me, hurry to get me soon. I'm DIXIE. DIXIE is spayed, heart worm negative and up to date on core vaccines. Adoption fee is $400. Please note that training is highly recommended for all young dogs. As with all rescue animals, breed determination cannot be validated without genetic testing. Visit WWW.LULUSRESCUE.ORG and click on the ADOPT tab for an overview of Lulu's Rescue adoption process. Thanks for adopting and saving a life -- you are DIXIE'S hero!
