He has had a heartworm test and is negative. He can see shadows. Otherwise he appears to be healthy. He weighs about 8 pounds. Owner Info: Sloane's owner got him from Animal Control. Apparatnely she had lost her dog and thought that the photo of Sloane looked like her dog. His owner shared, 'I took Sloane home and hoped I could give it a better life than what he had at the shelter. I have had a blind dog before and knew the challenges that came with it. Sloane is a sweet dog but has major anxiety issues with sound. I have changed the way we play music, watch tv and even speak so he is more comfortable as he gets to know us and his new surroundings. I have neighbors who own loud cars that terrify Sloan. They are constantly 'working' on them and this is not going to change. I really want him to have a loving, quiet home but I'm afraid I won't be able to provide the quiet part.' Sloane is not completely housebroken and currently uses a pee pad at times. He is not leash trained. He is an indoor dog confined to one area of the house. He is a little nervous at times especially with loud noise. Sloane is good with men, women, teenagers and other animals (females dogs, cats). He currently has 4 cat siblings and 1 dog sibling. Sloane is not possessive with his food and has never shown aggression. He is not aggressive toward others. His owner feels that he will adapt to new surroundings well and has done well at her home. 'He roams into the kitchen and down the hall and then back to his pen.' His owner wants to share that, 'Sloane is a sweet boy that needs a home better suited for him. He likes to snuggle and sit next to me with a little pressure on him... like hugging.' Sloane's owner feels awful about needing to find him a new home but feels it is best for him. If you are interested in adopting Sloane, please contact [email protected]. Please note we will ask for a vet reference.
