URGENT ON LONG ISLAND: Foster or Forever Home Needed ASAP. Moon is a female 2 year old, 70 lb Hound/Great Dane mix who was adopted last year from North Shore (NSAL was contacted, and they won't take her back ). Unfortunately, her owner's work schedule has changed significantly, and Moon finds herself alone pretty much the entire day. The owner's aunt has been helping by letting Moon out during the day, but she is unable to continue due to illness. Moon is a very pretty and laid back girl who loves to be with people, and she often has play dates with a doggy cousin. (She can be protective of her food when eating with another dog, so separate feedings are best.) She has not had much exposure to children, but when she sees kids, she doesn't show much interest and pretty much ignores them. A dog savvy cat should be OK (as long as the cat doesn't mind Moon trying to play). We'd love to find her a home with an experienced owner who is able to spend a lot of time with her. Moon is very smart and knows several commands, is house and crate trained, and she's working on walking nicely on the leash. The last thing we want is to see Moon end up in a shelter! She is spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated. To foster or adopt, please submit an application via the website. www.Olliesangelsanimalrescue.org
