About BENJI

Benji is a spirited little fella with a precious personality and zest for life. He loves to be with his family; going for a walk; riding in the car; napping; cuddling and playing with his toys. He's a love bug and happy-go-lucky pup; always ready for an adventure but just as happy to snuggle with his human on the couch and watch a movie. Benji is housebroken, crate trained and gets along great with other dogs (big and small). With proper introduction, we feel that Benji would get along with cats. He's been well socialized, enjoys meeting new people and has a kind, gentle nature. Benji is a love bug and deserves to be someone's treasured companion. We don't consider Benji a special needs pup but he requires a special family. Benji has a birth defect called Microphthalmia (an unusually small eye; occurs during early fetal development; the eye(s) begins to form but stops for some reason). Benji's left eye is small and he appears to have no vision in the left eye; his right eye is normal, with no vision impairment. X-rays show that Benji has noticeable wear and tear on two vertebrae in his back. His family will need to take care to protect his back; an injury to his back could result in paralysis (would require surgery within 24 hours or paralysis could be permanent). Benji will likely have pain in his back as he ages but the pain should be easily managed with a prescription. We're looking for a family that's willing to make accommodations to protect Benji's back and provide the care he needs. For these reasons, we've set a few 'Musts' for Benji's new family and home�'�| 1. No stairs 2. No jumping (while playing, up/down from furniture, etc.) 3. No children 4.
