About Reba

This is Reba, she is a super sweet 6-9 month old Deer Chihuahua fusion. She came into the local animal shelter covered in wounds and had a makeshift splint made out of two tree branches and vetwrap, which was too tight and cutting off circulation to her foot. The splint was removed and X-rays were taken showing a severe radius and ulna fracture. Despite the pain she must have been in she never once uttered a peep during her exam or X-rays. The next day she was scheduled for surgery to pin the bones back together which she pulled through like a champ. She is making a great recovery but will need weekly rechecks for 6-8 weeks and will have the pin removed at the time of her spay. She is the sweetest baby ever. She does absolutely nothing except wants to be cuddled. She has been pretty good with all my dogs so far, but is a bit reactive to my cats. She will chase them and try to provoke them if given the chance. She needs to find a great home that will love her and understand her injury. Only time will tell how the leg will heal. She is young so I'm sure she will heal well, but she will probably develop arthritis in that leg and might limp. So her forever family will need to be able to and willing to deal with that aspect.I will not let her go to her new home until she is fully healed and spayed.
