About Clyde

Adoption Fee: $75
Great Pyrenees
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

We have had Clyde since he was 8 weeks old. We bought him from a breeder in Knoxville who had working dogs. We didn't buy him as a working dog but as a family dog. He knows basic commands (sit, stay, down, & Shake) he is completely housebroken he never goes in the house. He loves baths and loves to swim and play in the river. Loves walks & get SO EXCITED when you ask him if he wants to go for a ride in the car. He loves dog toys and to play tug with a rope. So the not goods of Clyde. He is extremely food aggressive... he resource guards anything that he thinks is his I.e. trash can if he smells something good in it and you reprimand him he will viscously bark at you and snap. Other times you can go by him as he's checking out the trash and tell him 'no Clyde' and he walks away and is fine. If he gets a bone he will attack you if you get close or try and take it if you tell him to drop it he begins growling to warn you off. He's absolutely wonderful with other dogs we have 3 other dogs and he's never done a single thing to them, it's only humans. 89% of the time Clyde is the biggest teddy bear the other 11% he's resource guarding. I honestly have no idea why he does this and have no idea how to make him stop. I'm not trained enough to deal with that. He was born May 22, 2017 and we brought him home July 23,2017. He's only ever been with our family. It breaks my heart to adopt him out but I have a 9 year old little girl I just can't take the chance with him around her anymore although he has never tried to bite her he loves her and they play all the time, but I'm afraid if an adult isn't present and he resource guards of the outcome. He would be a WONDERFUL farm dog. We've had him inside his entire life though. I'm asking $75 because anyone will take a 'free' dog and I don't want that for clyde. This $75 fee can be waved in lieu of you providing a vet reference and a home visit. He needs special people to love him. Ideally a couple with no children that will just leave him alone in the floor with his bone until he's ready for some human love. He is perfect inside our home when we leave, never tears anything up. Any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.
