About Bourbon

*Edit*Bourbon is a 4 year old neutered Catahoula Leopard Dog. We are extending Bourbon's stay at our home until Sunday evening 8/19* Bourbon has to find a new home ASAP. He has attacked his housemate, Athena, again. He has severe separation anxiety (has destroyed multiple kennels, a bathroom door, and fractured teeth) and should be an only dog. He has become increasing worse in redirecting aggression toward other dogs in the house (getting worked up over neighbor mowing the lawn, someone knocking on the door, any car pulling into the driveway). He does improve some, but never completely with regular exercise combined with puzzle toys and behavior supplements. It is no longer fair to him or other pets in the house to have him continue living in our home. He would do best with a lot of outdoor activity, in a single dog (ideally single pet) home with a good handle on dog training. He is a strong dog that can be extremely stubborn. He wants to please and is very snuggly. My hope is that someone may be able to provide him with a better lifestyle. Unfortunately, I know this is going to be very difficult to find. Bourbon will not be living at our home for much longer because it is not safe for our other pets. We love him, but can not allow him to continue to injure Athena. He was vaccinated for rabies and dhlpp in May of this year and is current on Flea/Heartworm prevention. Should you be willing to adopt him, I'm happy to give you a bag of dog food and some prevention. Due to his aggression, Bourbon must find another home by tomorrow (Friday evening).
