Only ask about Bert if you want a best friend. He is all that and more. Bert is a 5 years old Border Collie/Australian Cattledog who weighs about 40 pounds. He is being fostered in NorCal, just south of Sacramento. Bert is a smartie. He likes to learn and already knows sit, is house and crate trained. Bert has such a good temperament. He is good with men, women, and kids. He lives in a foster home with a toddler. Bert is also nice with other dogs. Somehow, he just knows how to blend in. Bert likes to have people throw a ball or stick so he can chase it. Returning it isn't his strong suit. He also likes to play with his dog foster siblings. He gets excited to play and appreciates dogs who like to join in and don't mind Herding behavior. Bert likely saw his first leash in his foster home. Just like a standard Border Collie, he is quickly learning all about waking on the leash. He is also a fan of car rides, so will love to go places with his people. He loves to sit with his people while going places. He would prefer a home who is energetic and spends time going places. Bert is very sweet he loves to play and be active, then settles down to relax with his people. Bert is one in a million. He gets along with everyone (dogs, small children, horses, goats, pigs, donkeys, sheep) he is as loyal as the day is long and wants a person to bond with. He will stick by your side day and night and follow you everywhere without being a nussiance. He loves to cuddle and get pets and will fall asleep with his head in your lap. He does have an old scratch in his left eye that reduces his vision some, but you can see in his video that he really doesn't care. Bert is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. We do not ship our dogs. He is available for a meeting and adoption in Northern California. A home visit and vet reference are required.
