About Sophie

Sophie. She is a 4 year old black chow. She currently loves her life on the 'farm', with her other fur friends. She lives with 2 other male dogs, a female cat & 2 horses. She loves them all. She would do best in a similar setting. She gets along well with the majority of other dogs, too... Though she much prefers males & she is an alpha. I would say she need to be in a home where she can be the 'boss dog' - she doesn't accept another dogs pushy dominance well. Sophie loves the outdoors - especially our Wisconsin winters. She would lay in a snowbank all day if we let her. She is never fenced in or leashed, she roams on our 10 acres.. Knows her name & comes when I call her. Sophie, like most chows is slow to accept new people. But she will. I would not say that she prefers a specific gender. She does not feel comfortable around children, though. She definitely needs to be in a home without young children (this is the reasoning for rehoming; we are pregnant), she may do okay with older kids - who respect her boundries. Sophie has quite the personality once she gets to know you... She can be very goofy & playful, other times she can be quiet & reserved. We love her very much, but hope to find her someone new who will love her just as well. Must be experienced with chows. We will not just give her to anyone.
