About Apollo

Hi my name is Apollo my original human said I am a purebred Olde English Bulldogge but no one is quite sure of that my original human can no longer be contacted for more information so we can only guess my age around 1 to 2 years old. I have had a rough time of it my human moved out of state and the people who adopted me after decided they didn't want me anymore I kept turning up at a neighbor house and eventually ended up in the pound my humans never came to get me but the kind neighbor did when they saw I was there on the euthanasia list. However one of their pups does not like other male dogs so I can not stay. I am being neutered in the morning, am current on shots, have been wormed, microchipped, am crate and house trained, I know sit and roll over but am still working on down since i just want to roll on my back to get belly rubs, I need some leash work but walk okay with a harness with minimal pulling. I still jump a little when I get too excited but we are working on that and I sometimes bulldoze people or things out of my way not realizing how big I am. I love to swim and play in water or play fetch my favorite thing in the world is ropes, belly rubs, and anyone who will pet me. I also love car rides but will try and sit in my humans lap so I need to be made to sit in the backseat. I love all dogs and am very puppy submissive to them, and I really want to play with cats but can not be trusted with them as I get too rough and like to chase them. I have a very high prey drive and can not go to a home with chickens or rabbits I have access to or a home without a fenced in yard as I will chase anything I will also bulldoze out of doors if given the chance so need to be watched. The only thing I want out of life is a nice crate by the bed to lay in and a human or five to love me I can be a bit of a brat about wanting to be pet but that may lessen if I have a family of my own. I can be hesitant around men at first and show some signs of being hit and yelled at however that may just be my natural submissiveness coming through and not abuse once I realize they won't hurt me I love them just as much as I do women and children. I won't be available until the 25th as I need time to recover from my neuter but my foster mom is willing to take applications now if you think you might have a place in your family for me I am located in Abilene but possible transport arrangements can be made to DFW or the surrounding area there will be a contract and adoption fee and my foster mom will want to see where I will be living before I can go home with you.
