About Maude

Maude and Harriet are sisters. They were both saved from a high kill shelter. Maude is a little female chihuahua mix around 2 years old and weighing 9 pounds. She is mostly white with small red spots. She is a happy, sweet, playful and loving little girl. She likes toys and playing with other small dogs. She likes to sit on your lap and be loved and petted. Maude is a very loving little dog that was very traumatized by something in her past. Whenever you try to pick her up, she rolls over, screams and pees all over herself. She is making progress...we can now pick her up most times without her screaming in terror, be she still pees a little. We are working with her, and we are hoping there is some wonderful person out there willing to give her a forever home. Maude is crate trained and otherwise good in the house. She needs to be house trained. Maude is small and delicate. She cannot cannot handle rough treatment by children or big dogs. She must be protected from mean dogs and large predators (coyotes, owls, eagles) that would consider her dinner. Maude must be an indoor dog and a loved member of the family. She must be walked on a leash, and would like a secure fenced yard to sun herself. Maude is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. She is positive with a medium load of heartworms that is being treated with the proven 'slow kill' method. She has completed her first treatment and is currently receiving her second round of medication. The medication for her second treatment is provided. Maude has a $100.00 adoption fee.
