About Ruby

Adoption Fee: $100
Beagle / Rat Terrier
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Female

Meet Ruby Ruby is a three month old beagle/terrier mix. She was owner surrendered to our shelter when her family had to move and couldn't take her. Ruby is a bundle of love, sweetness and puppy kisses. She's that wonderful mix of puppy -- calm and snuggly one minute and romping happily with people and other dogs and puppies her size the next. She doesn't show a lot of interest in cats and tends to back away from them. Ruby weighs eight pounds and she has the gorgeous markings of a beagle. She has long freckled legs and a constantly wagging tail that looks like it's been dipped in white paint that left a little white droplet on her back before drying. She's super confident and she loves to joyfully explore her surroundings to see what life has to offer. As with most beagles, smells and scents intrigue her and she's inclined to follow her nose. A secure fence will need to be in place at the time of her adoption. Ruby has been dewormed and has age appropriate vaccines. Call 706-865-4135 for information on additional health services provided as part of the adoption fee. If you can offer a safe indoor home submit an application online or at the shelter after a get acquainted visit. Application can be submitted online at: {https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/page/dog-adoption-application} . The online form may generate a 'Fatal Error' message after submission which is to be ignored. It is a system glitch and the submission HAS gone through. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet, a call to landlord if renting and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. Those who are not in a nearby community will have a virtual home visit. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://smithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals.
