About Charlie

This lovely little lady is Charlie, a 1.5-year-old Rat Terrier/Italian Greyhound mix, who weighs a delicate 10 lbs. Since arriving at her foster home in late July, Charlie has truly blossomed. Once terrified and defensive, Charlie has overcome her fears and is now a funny, happy, playful girl with tons of love and affection to give. Charlie adores the other dogs in her foster home and regularly teases them into playing with her. She definitely draws confidence from her canine companions, so her ideal home will have another dog or two with whom she can play and cuddle. Charlie is house-trained and crate trained, and she has developed good house manners. She likes to go for walks in a quiet neighborhood, but she does not enjoy encountering strangers or other dogs on her walks. Charlie is extremely loyal to her people, so she is slow to warm up to visitors in her home and barks at them to express her suspicions. In time, a patient, calm, loving person can earn her trust with treats, and she rewards those whom she trusts with adoration and love. She will do best in an adults-only home, where she is able to adjust at her own pace. To facilitate multiple meetings, it would be best for her adoptive family to be within reasonable driving distance of New Berlin, Wisconsin. When her deep, soulful eyes gaze lovingly into yours, your heart will swell with love, and you'll realize that Charlie is so completely worth the effort.
