About Dre

Friends! I'm in search of a new home for Dog-tor Dre, Ph.D*. Because that sounds ridiculous, he also answers to Dre. Unfortunately my current life and living arrangement is just down right cruel for him. I'm determined to find someone who loves his goofy nature just as much as I did. When I adopted Dre, he was expected to be 55 lbs and 2 years old in January. He is now 70lbs and at least a year old. I don't really trust estimates anymore so I'd say between 12-18 months at this point. Dre is a 70 lb Border Collie-more than-likely-Great Dane. He is not an apartment dog being he has the strength of a Great Dane and the energy of a border collie. His is crate trained and does well supervised in the house. Don't leave him out unsupervised; It may cost you a couch. He has never shown any aggression to me, guests, or other dogs. He has some experience in public and was well behaved on a leash. He's great with kids and plays very well with other dogs. Great in the car as well. He is working on basic commands and fetches and almost returns. He sleeps at the foot of the bed or in his kennel. As I type this, he's laying beside me in bed. He's a snuggler and a big goofy sweetheart. A 70 lb lap dog and if those words scare you, he is not the dog for you. Ideal adoptee would have a medium size yard, active lifestyle (running walking, biking), have good mobility and in good health (being he is higher in energy), and understands that he's just goofy. And if it doesn't work out, I'll help you find someone who loves him as much as I do. It breaks my heart but he deserves a place where he can be the dog he was meant to be.
