About Champ

Champ has been raised with our five children who have left the nest. My husband and I both work and can be out of the house up to 9-10 hours a day. He is a very social dog. He is a great dog. We feel he would be best surrendered to a family where there is someone home for longer lengths of time. He is well trained. He obeys, sit, stay, fetch, leave it and twirls on his back legs. He LOVES walks and can be without a leash. He stays in the confines of our yard/home and never runs off. He does not get on furniture and does not chew things. He doesn't get into anything. He is fed a high quality dry dog food and only eats once a day. We have 9 dogs in our cul-de-sac that are all different sizes and ages and he behaves well around them. He is still very active and loves to play chase, although he's fine resting around the house where others might be located. We take him to the groomers on a regular basis and they love him. He behaves for them while being groomed. He's non-allergenic and does not shed. He will bark when he sees someone who might be approaching the door/house. He occasionally will unsuspectingly nip at people's feet. He's never broken the skin. He hasn't been around small children much but because he hasn't, we do not allow him around them in our home. He has started to exemplify defiant behavior by soiling in our house. He used to be able to roam and now we have to confine him to our mud room with a gate. He will often soil in there even if he has been walked prior to being gated off. He is fine with being kenneled but not for any great length of time.
