About Jade-ADOPTION PENDING

Schnauzer / Cairn
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Whenever a sweet and engaging Schnauzer or Terrier mix gets into an urgent situation, Farfel's rescuers love to help. We find that dogs of these breed mixes are very loving, super- smart and loyal family companions. They fit so well into a household and make excellent best friends for all age groups as well as with gentle canines and felines. Jade is one of these cuddly and very sweet Schnauzer mixes. The New Mexico vets believe Jade to be a one year old, 13 lb Schnauzer with a bit of Terrier in the mix. They based this assessment on size, body structure and personality..she's a playful and very silly/entertaining girl once comfortable..very typical of her breeds. Jade (once comfortable in her environment) is very puppyish in her enthusiasm for all people that are kind to her. She has a love of life and positive attitude that touches the heart. After all, this very deserving girl has never had a responsible family to call her own. She has been a victim of circumstance in her life. Farfel's Rescue is committed to changing this trajectory for this dog that has so much to offer a committed and loving family. Rescue dogs can initially be a bit shy or nervous..this is expected in light of the very long transports and stresses of rehoming. When an adopting family is sensitive to the challenges of change and acclimation for these dog's, the transition is far easier. A home with a very loving and nurturing family that understands that blossoming takes time is always perfect for a rescue dog. They realize that socialization, pure love and belly rubs are a loving gift to a dog that is undergoing a life change. Given a bit of time, these dogs shine. Jade is one of these pups that is a blank slate just waiting for the commitment of a great family. Her love will know no bounds as she becomes a best friend, loyal companion and the greatest lap dog ever. Jade is such a perfect age and size to come along... at 1 year old (a perfect age - young enough to be open to new possibilities with her whole life lying ahead of her yet old enough to have left her babyish behaviors behind). Jade weighs 13 lbs...the perfect size to accompany her people everywhere a sweet dog is welcome. We envision active, dog-loving retirees for our sweet girl. Jade would also do well with a younger family that works from home or part-time so they can love this wonderful dog up periodically throughout the day. We feel that Jade is too sensitive to spend long hours alone while her family works full-time outside of the home. Jade has a gorgeous non-shedding or very lightly shedding coat that is currently sad from her time spent on the streets. With a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition (a daily salmon oil supplement is a great lifelong supplement for coat care as well as longevity) With this regimen, Jade's coat (with the stunning silver streaks running through it) will become very healthy, cottony-soft and matt-free. Jade won't be spayed when she arrives in Denver - while we request it, there just aren't enough vets to cover the needs of the vast number of homeless dogs in this industrial area of New Mexico. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Jade's spay and microchip after her arrival on transport if one of our Colorado rescue vets is used. Jade is arriving on transport in Denver in mid-August (we'll update as soon as we receive final confirmation) If interested in this loving and very cuddly best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. PLEASE NOTE: If you're truly interested in adopting Jade, please be sure to submit our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most circumstances, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
