Who's black and tan and sweet all over? It's me, Panzer! Now sit down so I can smush up against you and tell you all about your favorite dog- me, of course! I stayed at the shelter in Lyndhurst, VA for many months. Right as I thought kennel stress was getting the best of me, Augusta Dog Adoptions bailed me out of the shelter and I ended up in a great foster home with a fenced yard and other dogs. Speaking of other dogs, I do so well with them that I was the official greeter of new dogs at the shelter. I've done great at dog parks with dogs of all shapes and sizes. Heck, I've even been known to kick it with a cat or two; I passed my cat test at the shelter with flying colors. I do well with kids, but it's probably best that I live with older kids because I get very excited around rambunctious youngsters. I know all of my basic commands including sit, stay, wait, shake, and lay down. When it's time to leash up and head outside for walkies, I sit and wait to be leashed. Yeah, I'm a real gentleman, I know. I am a little excited on leash at first, but if you give me a few minutes, I settle down and we can have a relaxing walk. I'm also house-trained and good at giving hints when it's time for me to go outside. I hate the crate, but we are working on stupid crate training so I guess I can deal with it if you bribe me with enough treats. Car rides are my favorite; you can roll the window down and listen to the sweet music of my ears flapping in the breeze. My other hobbies include splashing in creeks, snuggling up really close against you, and shaking the daylights out of my toys. If you're looking for an obedient, well-trained, loyal companion who will dote on you, hike with you, run with you, sleep with you, and make your car rides extra cute, I think I know a guy-it's me! Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and hold adoption events at Petsmart in Waynesboro, VA (821 Town Center Drive Waynesboro, VA 22980) every Saturday. A $175.00 adoption fee ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
