About Ivy-ADOPTION PENDING

Poodle / Cairn
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Female

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young puppy. Ivy is the kind of pup who snuggles in, loves you up and then puts her beautiful head on your shoulder. She's so new and fresh with every possibility open to her. That's the case unless a baby like Ivy is in a high-kill shelter that quickly runs out of space. We're so grateful for the efforts of our great New Mexico rescuer in saving Ivy...she could see that her temperament is so sweet and loving that she couldn't allow her to be euthanized. Ivy was immediately brought to be vetted and then on to a great New Mexico foster home to receive pure love and begin her education. It turns out that Ivy, (at only 6 months old and approximately 12 lbs - expected to be approximately 15 lbs when full-grown) is an all-time lovebug! She's very friendly and so engaging that it's become a fun and rewarding experience for her rescuer..she had the following to say about sweet Ivy: Ivy is cute as a button and sometimes so silly..and then so serious like an old soul. She is like a blank slate...open and curious about everything around her. I take Ivy out and about..to stores, parks and neighborhood outings. She's so beautiful...seriously, her photo in no way does her justice. She has the most gorgeous silver coat and eyes with so much wisdom (and a little pain) that they touch my heart. Ivy is so wonderful..If she continues this regimen of socialization that promotes positive relationships with other dogs and bonding with humans...she will become a well-adjusted and pleasant adult companion. Ivy is just about the cutest scruffy puppy ever! She looks up at me with so much love and trust...but it didn't quite start that way. Ivy was initially shy and and a bit frightened. But with hugs, loving and fun playtime, she's becoming my best friend. Ivy is sometimes calm and mellow..then watch out for puppy energy. It's so entertaining..who needs television! She just appears to be more fun than your average puppy (or maybe I'm biased). If Ivy is treated kindly with clear behavioral guidelines, she will become a well-adjusted pup who respects her people as her leaders. This is the kind of family we're searching for for this kind and cuddly puppy. Ivy is lucky enough to have inherited the superior intelligence, curiosity and fun-loving nature of both the Terrier and Poodle breeds. If Ivy is trained with a positive reinforcement trainer and given tons of love and socialization with both humans of all ages and other dogs, she will grow into a self-confident girl who will be an excellent companion. Ivy has all the elements working in her favor since she's starting out with a great temperament, a love of life and a puppyish desire to please. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of positive reinforcement trainers in your area. Ivy will be arriving in Denver unfixed due to her young age. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs in regard to her spay and microchip if one of our rescue vets is used. It appears that Ivy is a non-shedding or perhaps very lightly shedding pup. She'll therefore require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition (a daily salmon oil supplement is excellent for longevity and coat care) to keep this puppy's coat healthy and silky-soft. Ivy will be arriving on transport in Denver in early to mid August (we'll update with exact date once confirmed). Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested in this sweet and cuddly best friend, please fill out our application completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Ivy please be sure to fill out our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving girl. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
