About Fern-ADOPTION PENDING

Poodle / Maltese
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Female

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young puppy. Fern is the kind of pup who snuggles in, loves you up and then puts her beautiful head on your shoulder. She's so new and fresh with every possibility open to her. That's the case unless a baby like Fern is in a high-kill shelter that quickly runs out of space. We're so grateful for the efforts of our great New Mexico rescuer in saving Fern...she could see that her temperament is so sweet and loving that she couldn't allow her to be euthanized. Fern was immediately brought to be vetted and then on to a great New Mexico foster home to receive pure love and begin her education. It turns out that Fern, (at only 6 months old and approximately 12 lbs - expected to be approximately 15 lbs when full-grown) is an all-time lovebug! She's very friendly and so very engaging that it's become a fun and rewarding experience for her rescuer..she had the following to say about sweet Fern: Fern is cute as a button and sometimes so silly..and then so serious like an old soul. She is like a blank slate...open and curious about everything around her. I take Fern out and about..to stores, parks and neighborhood outings. If Fern continues this regimen of socialization that promotes positive relationships with other dogs and bonding with humans...she will become a well-adjusted and pleasant adult companion. Fern is just about the cutest scruffy puppy ever! She has the most expressive eyes that look up at me with so much love and trust...but it didn't quite start that way. Fern was initially shy and and a bit frightened. But with hugs, loving and fun playtime, she's becoming my best friend. Fern is sometimes calm and mellow..then watch out for puppy energy. It's so entertaining..who needs television! She just appears to be more fun than your average puppy (or maybe I'm biased). If Fern is treated kindly with clear behavioral guidelines, she will become a well-adjusted pup who respects her people as her leaders. This is the kind of family we're searching for for this kind and cuddly puppy. Fern is lucky enough to have inherited the superior intelligence, curiosity and fun-loving nature of both the Terrier and Poodle breeds. If Fern is trained with a positive reinforcement trainer and given tons of love and socialization with both humans of all ages and other dogs, she will grow into a self-confident girl who will be an excellent companion. Fern has all the elements working in her favor since she's starting out with a great temperament, a love of life and a puppyish desire to please. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of positive reinforcement trainers in your area. Fern will be arriving in Denver unfixed due to her young age. Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs in regard to her spay and microchip if one of our rescue vets is used. It appears that Fern is a non-shedding or perhaps very lightly shedding puppy. She'll therefore require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition (a daily salmon oil supplement is excellent for longevity and coat care) to keep this puppy's coat healthy and silky-soft. Fern will be arriving on transport in Denver in early to mid August (we'll update with exact date once confirmed). Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested in this sweet and cuddly best friend, please fill out our application completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Fern please be sure to fill out our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving girl. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
