About Gretchen Margaret

Gretchen Margaret is a 4-5 years old Wirehaired Pointing Griffon (similar to German Wirehaired Pointer, but doesn't shed). She is spayed, is up to date on her vaccines, and has been receiving heartworm prevention for the last 2 years. She is very sweet, loving, playful, and attached to people. She is very trainable, highly food motivated, and has a high prey drive. She knows a number of commands (e.g. sit, shake, wait, 'okay' to release, 'kennel' for her crate, etc.), and will likely easily acquire more. Gretchen, although loving of people, does not like other dogs, and needs to be the one and only. A home with no small children is also advised. A fenced yard with a 6-foot or higher fence, or an e-fence (which she has now and does very well with on the lowest setting) is a must for Gretchen. She has struggled with anxiety and she has been given L-Theanine to help with this. This girl loves being in her crate, and because of her anxiety, will need to be crated when owners are away. Gretchen is a HIGH energy dog, and will need an active family to be successful. It is strongly recommend that potential owners have experience with behavioral issues. She is a challenge, but will be a fantastic addition to the right family.
