About Hopy

Hopy's story and survival is truly amazing. Hopy was found on the streets in Serbia (former Yugoslavia). Volonteers spotted him as a puppy sitting by the road unable to move. They took him to the vet where vet stated that he was probably hit by the car and left by the side of the road to die. Thankfully volonteers reacted quick and got him into safty. For 6m straight Hopy was not allowed/able to walk. Every day his foster mom in Serbia had towel under him helping him get around. After six months of recovery he was finally able to walk again on his own. We were afraid that he would be handicapped but he proved us different. As he got better his preparations for America started and he got fully vetted, blood work checked, hw test done, treated for parasites, and all else that was needed. The day came and he arrived in America where he was transported all the way from TX to Mississippi by the great group of transport volunteers from KHTC ground transport. Right now he is in MS doing great in his foster care with me. He is doing amazing with 5 other dogs. He is happy and loving life. At the moment he is waiting for his forever and perfect home. I selected that his breed is german pincher but he is not ...he is Serbian or polish hound mix which this website did not give me option to select. There is hardly any of his breed here in United States since these dogs are rare for this area. He is doing amazing with my 4 year old. His personality is very mellow and gentle. He can fit into any family, house or apartment. He is quiet and only barks when he sees another dog or mailman. he is crate trained. I always crate him at night and have his crate with me in the room. Also when I go to work I crate him as well. Hopy is potty trained and does not shed much. On scale from 1 to 5 maybe 2. Also he does not need a grooming just occasional bath. When it comes to his dissability it does not stop him from running or playing or even jumping on sofa. Sometimes he would attempt to jump on sofa and fall off which in that case I stand up and assist him to get up on sofa. Majority of times he can do it on his own. I posted a youtube video of Hopy on here as well and we are working on documentary on him because we feel that his story needs to be told. His personality is stunning and he will be a perfect pup for sombody. If you believe that you are that person please get in touch with SDDR.
