About Barley

Barley is a sweet and energetic dog that loves to cuddle. He's gentle with small children and adults. We've had him since he was a puppy and he's been very responsive and sensitive to training. He's an incredibly lovable dog but has been attacked by another dog and has fear aggression that makes him react strongly to seeing any dog now. His negative response is usually to dogs outside the house or car being walked by. Barley tries to run out of the house to be aggressive with other dogs and the one time that he did and bit another dog, he didn't draw blood. We've asked trainers to assess him and they have said that with some gentle training and guided exposure he can be trained out of this fear aggression. He also needs lots of space to play in a large yard or a farm. He's a hard worker and has potential for being a work dog. He is responsive and wants to please, he just needs consistency and training and lots of space.
