Adoption application at www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APP before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thanks for your cooperation!*** WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to come look at a dog We will contact you once we have received and reviewed your completed application. A Home visit as well as a reference check MUST be completed before a meet & greet. Polar 2 year old terrier mix, neutered what he is mixed with I don't know. Male 15.8 lbs. We suspect he is part Jack Russel Terrier but are not totally sure. Polar was dropped off along with his friend in a kill shelter in CA as apparently both of them would run away from their home all time & the dad had, had enough. Polars friend was adopted & Polar was left behind & ran out of time & the shelter asked could we help him & boy are we glad we did. Polar is up to date on his shots, he is neutered, chipped, heart worm negative & ready for his forever home. Polar is a very sweet cuddly guy once he knows you, he loves to run & play with other dogs & he is a fast little chap so it's best he only go to a home with a fully fenced secured backyard & other dogs who are willing to run around & play with him. With him running away from his previous home great precaution must be taken when in the home opening up doors or areas where he can run out. Polar does well on a leash & would do well going to a home who is active. Polar try's to get your attention by mouthing in the air for you to play with him, feed him or whatever he may need, this is his way of letting you know his needs. We do not know for sure what breed Polar is & it's up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think he is. Polar will do best in a home without cats. We have not had him around small children. He has a sweet mellow loving personality and doesn't exhibit any signs of resource guarding or aggression in his foster home. He may be ok with respectful children. As with all of our rescues & Polars friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Polar & going through the process and have read his listing fully to the end & are interested in adopting. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview, and a home visit followed by a meet and greet & if it's a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Polar that meet all the requirements for this lovable little fellow. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Polar has an adoption fee of $680 & is ready for his forever home. **IMPORTANT DETAILS - PLEASE READ** An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption. Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to commit a lifetime to him/her. We are an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit group of animal lovers. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable as we need these funds to pay our current medical bills for our dogs as well as any future dogs we rescue as well. As an adopter, you must be prepared to accept the fact that these dogs are rescues and, just like you and I, they all have their own individual personalities. In most cases, these little ones have been through a difficult journey that started when their family gave them up or they became lost. They may have been under stress, neglected or even abused in their past life or frightened by being left alone on the streets to fend for themselves. Our number one focus is finding these little loves a wonderful forever home with a family who is going to care for them and show them what it is like to be loved, a safe environment, a full belly and a warm bed. These sweet babies do not ask for much from you but they may require a little patience and understanding. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to come look at a dog We will contact you once we have received and reviewed your completed application. A Home visit as well as a reference check MUST be completed before a meet & greet can be scheduled. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
