About Barkley

This is Barkley. He is literally the goodest boy. I found him roaming around my fianc̩'s apartment complex and promptly took him in to keep him from getting hurt. He is being held now at the Kalamazoo Animal Service shelter in Kalamazoo Michigan. He is very good with human adults but not sure about young kids yet. He's so happy and loves to say hi to new people and cuddle up with his human on the bed. He is great in a car but does like to go from seat to seat to explore out the windows. He is good with some other dogs but he will need time to warm up to them. He met my sisters dogs of a similar breed and it was tense at first but by the end of the night they were playing like they'd known each other for forever. Only thing is that he simply does not like cats. We aren't sure about his level of sociability so it's likely that last night was his first time seeing a cat and it freaked him out. We aren't sure of his actual age but he has all of the markings of a puppy. We estimate that he is only about a year old, if that. He is extremely well behaved and we were already getting him to sit on command with the limited time we had him. He would make a great addition to any family looking for the most adorable high energy pupper to run around with. I would've personally adopted this dog on the spot but I am terribly allergic. As it is, he is in a shelter that may be forced to put him down at some point should no one adopt him and if he starts to get too sick or aggressive. That said, this is such a good dog, that if it does come to the point where the shelter is going to schedule him to be put down, then I will adopt him should no one else show interest. That's how good this dog is, if I hadn't made that clear. :)
