About Nova

This handsome Cattledog/Border Collie type mix boy is Nova. He is two years old and weighs about 35 pounds. Nova is smart and knows a lot. He knows the basics: Sit, Down, Stay, Here, Off, Cama (means go to bed) and Leave it. He also knows tricks: Roll Over, Paw (shake hands), Squirrel (sits up and grabs food like squirrel from hand), On your back ( this is a trick we taught nova to roll over to his side so that we may clean his paws every time he enters the house after being outside). Nova is house trained and prefers to avoid the crate. He doesn't really need it, so it's not a problem. Nova is good around adults, but he starts off shy. So, he prefers a quiet introduction. Therefore, we will not place him with kids who are not teens or older. Nova is good with other dogs, large and small. He loves to play! We are not sure how he is with cats. Nova is a fun guy. He likes adventures and is good on leash and in the car. He likes to go wherever his people go. He also loves to fetch! Rope toys are also a favorite toy. Nova is equally enthusiastic about hiking and fetch. Fun fun fun. Nova loves the beach, rolling around in the sand and generally having a good time. Nova needs a home where he isn't left alone more than an hour or two. He gets distressed when not with his people. That said, it should not matter. The person who gets this well trained and well behaved dog can feel good taking him everywhere! He sits quietly in a restaurant. He is good on long car rides. He easily roams with his person on a college campus or in a dog friendly mall. He is also happy going to work with his person. When not with his person, daycare, a dog walker, or any person he knows as a babysitter will make him happy. So, it's easy to work around this one small challenge for such an amazing dog. With exercise, he is a quiet dog who is happy to chill out after the fun and cuddle with his person. He likes to cuddle, too. Nova is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. We do not ship our dogs. He is available for a meeting and adoption in SoCal. A home visit and vet reference are required.
