This handsome boy is Jax. He is a small blue Australian Cattle Dog (about 18# pounds) who is about 1.5 years old. He spent the first year of his life ignored in a backyard and is now ready to experience all that life is for a Cattledog. As you would expect, he learns quickly. He knows sit, stay, and is working on a polite sit before going through a door. Jax is progressing very nicely on his house and crate training, without an accident so far. A new home will need to go slow and help him learn that the rules apply in his new home, too. Jax is a typical Cattledog in that he is shy. He likes people but prefers that they go slow when meeting him. Therefore, no small kids for Jax so he doesn't have to be nervous. Jax is a great travel buddy. He is good on leash and in the car. He will relish camping and hiking. For folks who live in town, he would prefer a place that isn't a city environment. Suburbia is just fine for this boy. Jax is nice with other dogs. He does have plenty of prey drive, though, so cats we aren't sure of. He loves to chase lizards. Jay loves to fetch. He runs like crazy to get to the ball before running back. Jax is a goofy and sweet boy who loves to cuddle at the end of the day. He will make a fantastic best pal. Jax is neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccinations. We do not ship our dogs. He is available for a meeting and adoption in SoCal. A home visit and vet reference are required.
