Madeline (about 8 months old as of 12/15/18) is a spayed female black tuxedo shorthaired kitten. Madeline was trapped as a feral kitten that just showed up all alone one day at a managed colony in Waukegan when she was about 9-10 weeks old. Although she was scared she wasn't mean so she was taken in to foster care to see if she could be tamed. Thankfully Madeline has made a lot of progress. She likes to be pet and held and purrs easily although she can get squirmy when she is feeling uncomfortable and is happiest on her own 4 feet. She can be a little skittish when being approached when she's down on the floor but when she's up at 'people height' on furniture she just loves to be pet vigorously and will dance and flip and roll around, very entertaining! She plays very well with other cats and would definitely do best with at least one other more outgoing cat to lead the way for her. Because she is more shy we think she'd feel more comfortable without really little kids; although we've had no problems with her and the toddler in her previous foster home she certainly prefers the elementary age kids and adults in her current foster home. She has lived with dogs and done okay but because she is a little more sensitive cat-experienced dogs are a better fit for her.
