About Rousey

Our dog Rousey is a 2 year old Pit Bull/Bull Terrier, we are not 100% sure on her breed. She is 52 lbs. She is skinny and medium size but all muscle. She is up to date on all shots and is microchipped. Rousey is really a great loving dog but we have been experiencing some issues with her lately that have caused concern for our 2 year old son and our 5 year old dog. She has become more aggressive with our other dog and during certain situations will attack and try and bite his neck. She does however get along with other dogs that visit. Rousey has also nipped in our youngest child's direction before but a week ago she was scared by the noise of tissue paper that our son was carrying and she nipped/bit him in the face. She didn't draw blood or break the skin but he had teeth marks by his eyebrow and cheek. She also growls when people come to visit or if we meet people on a walk. We have worked with a trainer in the past but still have the same issues. Most people she is fine with but there are a few, both men and women, that she will never warm up to and continue to growl at them and stare them down. Sometimes she will take steps toward them. She has never attacked or bitten anyone in these situations though. She has always been very timid but it seems to be getting worse. We think she would do better in a home with no small children and no other dogs. She also has a torn ACL. In May we notice her limping and would not put pressure on her back left leg. We had the option of two different surgeries or a brace. We couldn't afford the surgery that was supposed to fix the problem permanently so we decided to go with the brace. She uses the brace occasionally but regardless if the brace is on, she runs and jumps same as she did before and there are no signs of pain.
