About Alice

Adoption Fee: $125
Domestic Cat
Age: Young Kitten
Sex: Female

Alice (DOB 5/1/18) is a short-haired brown tabby tuxedo female kitten. Her foster mom describes her as reserved. She will observe whats going on before jumping into the mix with Louie and Chester. Their mom and a 4th sibling were killed by a neighbor before these kittens were rescued. They've been in a foster home since they were about 6 weeks old and have the run of the house. On July 24 they tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency virus (FIV). FIV is a slow acting virus that can cause mild to moderate immune impairment. It is contagious to other cats but only through deep bite wounds, something not likely to happen given a slow introduction. It is possible but very unlikely that they got the actual virus from mother's milk. It is more likely that the blood test picked up the anti-FIV antibodies they received from her. So these kittens will be retested in September but are ready for adoption now. If the later test is positive for any of them (Chester and Alice's were faint positive), they will still be the same silly, sweet kitten with a long life expectancy. Most cats with FIV live to be seniors and pass away from common old age conditions. Adoption fee includes neutering, vaccinations, parasite treatment, microchip. $125 for 1 kitten, $200 for a pair.
