About KitKat

KitKat is a 1-year-old lowrider, shepherd mix who weighs about 35 lbs. She is well-behaved and is house- and crate-trained. She is OK with cats and LOVES other dogs, however, she is a little skittish around people. She is very smart and follows a few commands. She is a sweet girl and does like attention and affection, but on her own terms--she does not like to be reached for, but she will approach people on her own for pets. She happily greets her foster parents at the door when they come home and she likes to sit next to them on the couch for scratches. She will need an understanding and patient adopter who will allow her time to trust on her own terms. KitKat takes comfort and gains confidence in the presence of other dogs, so her ideal home will have at least one other dog. She does not walk well on a leash and will need a home with an attached, enclosed yard. She would do best sharing a home with older children and adults only.
