About Tito

Adoption Fee: $100
Miniature Pinscher mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

My wife & I adopted Tito in May 2015 from a local animal rescue that had been closed down due to abuse & neglect. He was about 1-year old at the time, in great health (approx 11 lbs) and cute as could be. He warmed up to us immediately, loved playing around our house & backyard! However, he developed shortly after fear/slightly aggressive behavior towards men and now (3 years later) anxiety/fear/aggression towards any person other than my wife and I and our closest family and friends that are at our house often. He will warm up after a couple of visits or extended time around new people but it does take some time. We now have a toddler & a newborn that sadly do not mix well with Tito's lifestyle. He is not a huge fan of our 2-year old and has started to become slightly aggressive towards her and also my wife & I when we get on to him for his behavior towards our toddler. We have considered several options and believe that re-homing him is truly what is in his best interest. We are at a point where we just do not trust him around our small children or their friends, which brings us to this point. We are actively looking for a loving home that has no children or cats. Pros: Adorable, loyal, wonderful security system (will alert you to anything/anyone at your home), potty/kennel trained, neutered, up to date on all vaccines, no health concerns or issues, loves to play & be active, good with other dogs (loves to play with my in-laws 3 dogs) Cons: very anxious (barks at heavily at new people, doorbells/knocking), cannot live with children or cats, territorial over food/treats, will nip/bite at new people who try to reach for him, has needed to be sedated for grooming We would love to find him a home that can provide him a calm, loving & fun environment. He loves the outdoors & we have joked many times he would do great at agility courses because he's so speedy! We have a kennel, bed and a couple of blankets for him to keep with his new owners as well. Thanks for anyone out there that can help in finding him a new home!
