About Bambi-ADOPTION PENDING

Cairn / Chihuahua
Age: Senior
Sex: Female

Bambi is a dignified older lady who, In her senior years, experienced the death of her lifelong mom. It a very heartbreaking situation for the grieving dog when no arrangements are made for their care. Often they're dropped off at the local shelter for euthanasia. Luck was on Bambi's side that sad day...our very compassionate rescuer (whose loving heart is well-known around the city) was contacted with a last ditch effort for this sweet little girl. When she met Bambi, the decision took seconds...after she held her close and Bambi snuggled in with so much love and trust, our rescuer knew this sweet girl was coming home with her. Farfel's was contacted hours later and we happily accepted Bambi into Farfel's Rescue. Bambi, at a tiny 8 lbs (such a perfect size for mellow walks as well as lap-sitting) and approximately 11 years old has many healthy years left to be a full-time best friend. (both Terrier and Chihuahua mixes often live to a very ripe old age). Bambi would be such a perfect companion for anyone who is searching for that wonderful spirit in their lives. She will be by your side to hug and love on..a kind and loving being to hold close when the challenges of the world seem overwhelming. At the same time, Bambi is a low-maintenance girl who also has the ability to keep herself busy (or take a nap) while her family is involved in other things. Bambi's vet assessment was excellent for an older girl. She appears to be very healthy with no outstanding health issues. She's a happy, very, very sweet and kind girl who just wants to be a member of a family where she will be loved like crazy..and she will return that devotion a million times over. After spending time with Bambi, her New Mexico foster is positive that this beautiful girl was loved very much at one time as she's well-adjusted with high self-esteem. She had the following to say about sweet Bambi: Bambi is such a sweet, super- smart and wonderful girl! My whole family loves her so much already. Bambi has been great with both my dogs (like-sized to Bambi). She loves gentle kids...my neighbor's children who are 9 and 10 fell in love with her and she with them! They had so much fun watching movies and eating popcorn with Bambi wedged so happily between them...such a touching scenario. Bambi is very respectful of my home (completely house trained with no accidents!) and has been a welcome guest! She's a quiet spirit but loves to interact (in a very positive way) with my dogs. She isn't crazy about my cat who chooses to hang out elsewhere. Bambi enjoys the yard with my little Chi..they do some patrolling together and then enjoy the sunshine. Then the best part ever...Bambi lies close beside me on the couch with her beautiful head draped over my leg. She sleeps all night long right beside me on the bed without making a sound. What can I say...we've fallen in love with this amazing lady! A family is going to be so lucky if they adopt this gem! Bambi may be a bit shy initially as rehoming is challenging for any dog...but with love and nurturing, she will absolutely shine. We envision Bambi with either retirees (she would be overjoyed with time spent and being at the center of a loving family) or a younger family who works at home or would be able to take Bambi to a dog-friendly workplace. A mellow canine friend would be great for Bambi as well. She would enjoy the companionship and cuddle times with her new doggie sibling. For those family members who enjoy neighborhood walks and time outside, Bambi would love nothing more than to share the experience. Her foster loves daily walks to socialize with neighbors and Bambi often comes along. She is very happy for these daily outings, fascinated by the activity around her. Bambi breathes in the air...so happy to be out and about. And then, maybe her favorite part, it's time to end the day with hugs, belly rubs and a warm spot close beside her beloved family members. As a Cairn/Chi mix, Eva is a lightly shedding girl (although it's difficult to tell for certain until her sad coat grows out through great nutrition and care).. She will require a commitment to periodic baths/ brushing and great nutrition (a daily salmon oil supplement is excellent for lifelong coat care and longevity), to keep her eyes healthy and her coat cottony-soft.. Bambi is arriving on transport in Denver sometime in August. Applications are currently being accepted for our sweet girl. If interested in this beautiful ...and very cuddly and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. PLEASE NOTE: If you're truly interested in adopting Bambi, please be sure to submit our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most circumstances, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
